Compare contribution, not only price
A high selling price can hide an expensive ingredient list. The Menu Margin Planner accepts dishes you name, serving price, ingredient cost, quantity and optional allocated labor or overhead. It shows per-dish contribution and the revenue-weighted blended margin.
- Use the same currency and time period across dishes.
- Distinguish per-serving allocation from a whole-venue bill.
- Do not average percentage margins without weighting by revenue.
Make variety operationally useful
The developer describes meat, seafood, salads, sandwiches, pizza, soups, desserts, snacks and drinks. That confirms variety, but not an optimal number of dishes or a mandatory category mix. Consider whether the supplies and equipment for a new dish are already part of your operation.
- Selling price
- Less ingredient cost
- Less allocated costs
- Serving contribution
Generic arithmetic, not a reverse-engineered game formula.
Watch what actually sells
When the live build is available, record the menu and a comparable service period. An attractive margin on a dish with no sales does not pay the venue’s fixed costs. This site will only add demand presets after repeatable observations, with the build and conditions attached.
What we’ll check at launch
- Menu limits and customer response
- Dish availability and sales quantities
- Price controls and exclusivity effects
Compare dishes, serving contribution and a revenue-weighted menu margin.
